Your scale does not define you! Step on. Get a number. Tenths of a pound? Step off. Drink two glasses of water. Your body needs it. Now step on the scale again. Up a pound? Yes, that is NOT FAT. It is the fluid your body needs to metabolize the fat that WILL come off. Do you know that expression “a watched pot never boils?” Put that evil thing away, if you are giving it the power to define who you are. It is nothing more than a tool that measures your body’s relationship with gravity in that location at that moment. It cannot measure how wonderful, sweet, kind, hard-working, loving or smart you are. So it does not matter.
IN THIS WORKSHOP YOU’LL LEARN HOW TO:
• Greet January 2nd, 2020 in peace,
gratitude & confidence
• Wake-up on January 2nd, 2020
without shame or regret for making
unhealthy food & drink choices
• Make healthy, life-giving choices
this holiday season and avoid the
pressures from friends & family to
eat & drink what doesn’t serve us
• Avoid the unhealthy holiday food
& drink choices through contemplative
prayer & mindfulness
• Recognize true hunger within
• Fill our bodies with life-giving foods,
bathing our cells in nutrients, rather
than starving and punishing ourselves
for being hungry
The focus will be on how we can be good to ourselves, even with the pressure of “Oh come on, just one bite… I made your favorite for you” or “I have to eat this, I want it, I love it, it’s our tradition.” That way we don’t wake-up on January 2nd feeling the dread of disappointment, regret or shame due to the previous weeks of holiday celebrations.
We will do a guided meditation, personal/private reflection, sharing, planning and envisioning for the New Year of 2020.
